Case History Concentrates Filtration

mineral concentrate filtration (iron ore)

YEAR: 2010

COUNTRY: INDIA

N° and MACHINERY MODEL EMPLOYED: 1 GHT 2500.P12 MEM Diemme® Filtration

The customer is one of the biggest Indian steelworks with the need of dewatering a huge quantity of iron ore concentrate, employing only one machine.  This unit also has to be capable of expansion in the future, to satisfy a possible increase in product.

The customer made enquiries to 13 filter presses suppliers, but only Bilfinger Water Technologies succeeded in matching and satisfying  its requirements, designing and building the biggest filter press in the world: the GHT 2500.

It’s not only the biggest filter press of the Bilfinger Water Technologies range in terms of filtration volume, but also a highly-technological machine that permits the completion of a filtration cycle with cake blowing, drying and squeezing phases in a very short time.

This filtration “giant” can dewater huge concentrate quantities, with an expandability that can allow it to dewater up to 200 t/h of product. It can also reach a residual cake moisture of between 5 and 9 %.
