The customer mainly refines vegetable oil for the food industry. The oil comes mainly from sunflower seeds, peanuts, palm and fish. The customer already had old manual filter presses with poor filtration efficiency, resulting in very low refined oil recovery.
Due to the challenging product characteristics and operating conditions (temperature range), as well as the wide variety of oil types processed, it was difficult to select the right filter.
A close collaboration began with numerous laboratory tests and continued at Diemme® Filtration with the study and design of the most suitable machines for both the purification process (high temperatures) and the winterisation process (low temperatures).
Thanks to its experience, Diemme® Filtration has been able to supply filter presses that meet the specific requirements of the various filtration applications, in particular with precise dosing of diatomaceous earth and activated carbon.
In addition, the membrane technology used in the two filter presses allows maximum oil recovery, as required by the customer.
